Rocking stands are much more useful than their static counterparts. There are very few newborns who do not find the rocking motion soothing. Settling your new baby down to go to sleep will be far easier, as babies who are first settled by being fed or rocked in their parents arms frequently jerk back into wakefulness as soon as they touch the mattress, which can be a constant source of frustration for the parents and upsetting for the infant.

This stand benefits from its sturdy design. For extra security, it also has flexible retaining hoops which fit snugly around the moses basket and hold it safely in place. Although it is pleasingly "chunky" in appearance, the stand is actually quite light so it is easy to transport it between rooms. The downside, of course, is that when you are not using it, you cannot simply fold it up and store it. If you have limited space in your home you may want to consider a folding moses basket instead.
